Becoming a Surrogate

Stork Surrogacy International LLC is currently accepting applications from potential surrogates throughout the world.

Thank you for considering the gift of becoming a surrogate in our program. For some, surrogacy is the last hope for having a baby. Many Intended Parents who are considering surrogacy have tried everything to conceive including exhaustive testing and countless appointments with fertility specialists, resulting in strained relationships.

It is only through this genuine act of irreplaceable kindness that offers them a breath of hope. Some Intended Parents may have children from a previous relationship and some may have required a hysterectomy, yet still want to share the joys of parenting with her current partner. Some Intended Parents are in a same sex gay relationship and the only way they can have a biological child is through egg donation and surrogacy. Some never had a chance because they may have gone through cancer treatments in their teens, twenties or thirties or may have even been born without ovaries and/or a uterus. Through our involvement, we intend on helping all these people create families.

Stork Surrogacy International LLC is looking for special women who are interested in becoming a surrogate. If you are a healthy woman between the ages of 21 and 39, who have had at least one healthy, normal pregnancy and a delivery to term, please fill out our online application. Our intended parents are extremely diverse and are looking for potential surrogates who in some way reflect themselves: down to earth, healthy, successful, progressive, creative, goal-oriented, sophisticated and well educated. Surrogacy is not for everyone, but for those responsible, loving, healthy, and mature women who wish to be considered as possible surrogates, we offer a minimum of $22,000 for your time and effort. Those women who have been successful surrogates in the past may receive higher fees. Surrogates must be willing to complete medical and psychological testing, take a series of injectable medications, and undergo an ultrasound guided transvaginal embryo transfer. The typical timeline from selection by an intended parent to completion of the fertility treatments is 6 – 9 weeks. You will be asked to fill out an extensive medical and personal profile and to send photos of yourself and your children if you have any. All candidates are treated with the utmost care, respect, and confidentiality.

To find more information, please read on: Becoming a surrogate is not something you enter into lightly. It requires a high level of maturity and responsibility, and involves taking a regimen of fertility medications and undergoing a full term pregnancy with possibly a multiple births. As with any medical procedure, there are potential risks—it is the sole responsibility of the surrogate to investigate all risks and discuss all medical issues with your physician.

The following outlines an overview of the surrogacy process:

Complete the initial Surrogacy Questionnaire.

Once you have completed the questionnaire, you will be contacted by email confirming that we received it and to set up a telephone interview with you.

All forms must be completed online as they are part of our confidential database. We cannot send a form to you by regular mail. You must have access to the internet and an email address to become a surrogate.

We will review your completed application and screen it for acceptance. Upon acceptance, we will add your profile and pictures to our database. Without your permission, no identifying or contact information will be displayed on your online profile except your photos. Our office will assign an identification number to your profile.

Often, a surrogate is willing to have the potential parents know her first name only. This is possible if you allow us to tell them during the matching phase. Please notify our office if you do not want your first name used. At no time will any identifying information be given to an intended parent without your permission. Most intended parents and surrogates want complete openness regarding personal identity.

All Intended Parents and surrogates will have an opportunity to speak with each other during a telephone conference that will be arranged by our office when it is desired by all parties involved. A personal meeting is usually the next step once the Intended Parent and surrogate ‘click’ and decide they would like to move to the next step in the matching phase. We will also facilitate that meeting as well.

After the match is made, to protect all parties involved of any future repercussions, the legal documents will be drafted. Once the surrogate and the Intended Parents have chosen each other, you will be asked to have further medical, physical, psychological and infectious disease screening performed in addition to the extensive screening we have already performed. There will be no cost to the surrogate for these screenings or any other part of the process of being a surrogate.

Reasonable out of pocket expenses will be reimbursed to you as needed by the Intended Parents.

Our surrogates are located throughout North America while our Intended Parents may be American or international clients living in Canada, Europe, Australia, Asia, South America or elsewhere in the world. You may be requested to travel to the location of the clinic chosen by the Intended Parents however you will not be required to travel outside of North America as all treatment will be performed in the continental United States, Canada or the Caribbean. If you are required to travel outside of your home area, all expenses will be paid for by the Intended Parents through our agency. The expenses incurred may include flights, hotel, meals, etc. Many of the screenings can be performed in your home area and the results will be forwarded to the physician who will be performing the retrieval as well as to our agency for your file.
